me, getting ready in my bathroom <3

Hey, stranger.

I started evie en rose for a few reasons. Mainly, because Stephen King’s words, “If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot” will probably haunt me to my grave. So this is me writing.

evie on rose is the name of a cocktail made for me, in an effort to find a drink I actually like. The creator of said cocktail wanted to do a play on the infamous Edith Piaf song. Directly translated to "life in pink", la vie en rose essentially means seeing life through rose-coloured glasses. Living with an attitude or outlook of positivity, trying to see beauty in the everyday; like you do when you first fall in love. To recreate the drink, follow this recipe:

3 fresh basil leaves

2 cucumber slices

1/2 oz strawberry compote or 1 fresh strawberry

1/2 oz simple syrup

2 oz vodka

  1. muddle basil, cucumber, simple syrup, and strawberry in a cocktail shaker

  2. add vodka and a generous amount of ice

  3. shake until cold, pour into a chilled martini glass, and enjoy
