This made me so emotional :’)))) 100000% agree with all of this. My fiancé and his family got me 2 film cameras for my birthday (a yashica t3 and a Nikon n6006) and it’s been a game changer for capturing my life. Everything feels so much more beautiful and intentional when you can’t do a photo burst on your phone and instead just take one great photo. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your beautiful photos! THE DOUBLE EXPOSURE ONE AHHH obsessed!
I love everything about this! I recently got back into photography and have been having so much fun with it—I’ve been editing most of my photos to have that film quality and toying with the idea of a film camera but I also am worried I’ll like it too much and it’ll become an expensive hobby. 😅
That said, after reading this and seeing your photo I’m not looking up film cameras 🤣 the question is how do you choose camera and film roll?!
i usually ask my local film lab what they recommend! typically i buy kodak film because i’ve tried a few other brands and like the color quality of kodak better. i then change the type (200 vs 400) based on the season. for example i’ll go with a 200 in the winter since it’s better for lower lighting and my Pentax has limited adjustments so it’s better to have a film more suited to the environment i’ll be in!
how is it that youve managed to capture every one of my thoughts in a couple of words just like that... long live to film pictures, this is amazing :)))
Gorgeous photos & article. I’ve been debating getting into film photography for soooo long and you might’ve just convinced me
do it!! honestly life changing once i got past being a bit intimidated by the process
