Evie this is so beautiful. As another work from home bee, I felt your words in my chest. In expressing your moments of boredom of loneliness, I hope you know that you made others feel less alone.
relatable! i'm a homebody and love my WFH job, but i prefer a hybrid schedule of having some days in office and some days at home, because i miss having an office community! that's where all the friendships and networking happens! there are so many people i work with that i know i'd be closer with if we worked in person together- it's so sad. like, one the one hand i can watch tv and listen to music in my PJs next to my cat while i work, but on the other hand i'm missing out on so many connections with coworkers that could turn into friendships or other opportunities, the days blend together, and i've gained 20 lbs!
There is a lot to think about in what you have written Evie. Of course I have never had any job that remotely resembled a job like yours (pun intended). I would imagine that one feels cut off from your friends and colleagues. The inter action of working along side other people would be hard to contend with.
AldosHuxley has a point. “Lightly, lightly”. Good advice.
feeling and exploring the complexities of the full spectrum of your human experience do not imply a lack of gratitude for your beautiful lucky girl life <3
I FEEL you. That's really all I can say. I am realizing so much that as an introvert, I need to be forced to leave the house. Because once I finish work and it's dark outside, that's the last thing I want to do. So please, force me out of the house for work.
fellow engineering girlie here (in college) it gives me hope that your writing is so lovely and that you have time for it while also having a job in a stem field
!!!!! this is so sweet thank you ☺️ if it gives you hope, i definitely have time for creative projects and most of the time it’s exactly what my brain needs after work
all of this 100%!! as a fellow seasonal depression girl and chronic overthinker, going to the office has been so good for me. it’s a huge list of pros and cons, and admitting I like the office makes me feel like an industry plant, but alas
Well written about what some of the cons are with working from home.
